The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.

The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers four Bachelor and 15 Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the project “Well-being at work (W@W)” at the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (DBCS). The W@W project is funded by the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Luxembourg and aims at understanding how the disappearance of the workplace, i.e., the increase in digital, remote work, which was accelerated by the pandemic, affects people across work life. In the project, we will use an interdisciplinary method-mix, consisting of a legal analysis, a longitudinal survey in six European countries and a case study in a large company in Luxembourg.

Your Role

The successful candidate will be involved in analyzing data from the longitudinal survey and design, execute, and analyze the case study. They are expected to publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals, present their work at international scientific conferences and assist in disseminating the project findings to relevant stakeholders and the general public. They will also be involved in day-to-day project management and participate in project team meetings and workshops.

Your Profile

PhD in Psychology or a related field
Research experience in industrial/organizational, clinical, or lifespan developmental psychology and peer-reviewed scientific publications in one or more of those fields
Profound knowledge of quantitative social research methods (e.g., longitudinal panel analyses)
Experience in qualitative research methods is an asset
Project management and administrative skills
Very good standard of written and spoken English and either German or French (Knowledge in Luxembourgish is an asset)
