Description

In honour of the Chin family and the opportunities Jack Chin has had in China and Australia that led to his successful career, this endowed annual prize has been established to support and provide opportunities for Chinese International students studying in the areas of engineering, computing and IT at The University of Queensland.

Eligibility

An applicant is eligible for the award if the applicant:

  • is an international student from the P.R. China; and
  • has completed at least 12 units at The University of Queensland in one of the following programs:
    • (A) Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or an integrated engineering program or an engineering dual program; or
    • (B) Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Technology (Honours) program and associated dual programs; or
    • (C) Bachelor of Computer Science and associated dual programs.
  • submits an application to the Associate Dean (Academic) by the specified closing date.

Selection criteria

Best applicant determined on the basis of:

  • academic achievement in the courses undertaken to date; and
  • personal statement and resume included in the application.

Scholarship value : Money to the value of at least $1,000 but limited to the income from the endowment.
