Website unit

We are looking for a full-time PhD researcher (m/f) for scientific research (funding up to 4 years) which should lead to a PhD-degree. This research will be conducted under guidance of prof. Stephan Poelmans (supervisor) and prof. Monique Snoeck and prof. Yves Wautelet (co-supervisors). It involves research in the field of business process modeling, using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). It includes the design of an error and learning objectives taxonomy and a competence measurement instrument for BPMN, the analysis of existing data sets (process models), with the potential to set-up scientific experiments with students. You are expected to participate in seminars and conferences (which may require travelling) and to enroll in the PhD program of the Faculty of Economics and Business. You could be asked to provide teaching support for a small part of your time, such as guiding master theses and supervising exams.

You will find a dynamic and pleasant working environment in the group on Campus Brussel. You will also collaborate with researchers who are located in Leuven.

Candidates should have a very strong interest in software engineering, process modeling, and e-learning, and preferably have a background in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Business Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Applied Economics, or Civil Engineering. Candidates with a Pedagogy or Psychology degree and IT competences are welcome too. Computer programming skills are an advantage.
An average yearly result of "distinction" during the university education is required, as is an excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

We offer an employment as full-time doctoral scholar as for 1 year, renewable till max. 4 years after positive evaluation. The tentative starting date is September 30, 2021, depending on the availability of the candidate.
