Job description

The position is a tenure-track opening for highly qualified researchers in the field of information systems science, and more precisely persuasive information systems within it.

The tenure-track position in persuasive information systems is directed to investigate how information technology influences the way we think and how information systems can be designed and developed for purposes such as improving health, wellbeing and sustainability. The keyword here is persuasive, not pervasive, even though persuasive information systems may be pervasive, too. The tenure track position is open to highly talented researchers, who hold a doctoral degree, master the abovementioned research topics and have a high potential for an outstanding scientific career. Practical exploitation of the research via research projects and other collaboration with companies is important for the position. The successful applicant of this call will be placed at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of the four-level tenure track system depending on the qualifications. The applicant should indicate on which level they wish to be evaluated on.

A person at any level in the academic tenure track system is expected to conduct world-class scientific research, to be competitive in attracting external funding, to publish in leading journals and conference proceedings, to supervise doctoral and master students, to be an active member of the international scientific community, and to create and teach related B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. level courses.

What we expect

General qualifications: The applicant should have excellent potential for a successful scientific career. The top candidates undergo an evaluation by external experts and are required to reach top scores (5-6 on a scale from 1 to 6 for scientific activity and as the overall score), to be recruited.

Qualifications for an Assistant Professor position: We expect you to have a doctoral degree in information systems science or related field, the ability to work independently, and teaching skills relevant for the position. In order to qualify as an Assistant Professor, your doctoral degree must have been received a maximum of ten years ago.

Qualifications for an Associate Professor position: We expect you to have an applicable doctoral degree as well as evidence of scientific research work and the teaching skills required in the position. You must have the ability to lead a research group and acquire supplementary research funding. We also expect you to have sufficient and relevant experience in international scientific work and evidence of international cooperation.
