Studying abroad is a dream of all students but not everyone has enough funds to afford it. To support international students, California State University is offering Non-Resident Tuition Fee Waivers to outstanding candidates.

Interested international students need to maintain a GPA of 3.3 to be eligible to apply for the award to gain tuition fee support for one academic year. Candidates with genuine financial needs and great academic potential will be considered.

The second oldest campus in the California State University system, the California State University-Chico was established in 1887. Ranking 26th in Regional Universities West, it aims to reach a global audience through the excellence of inquiry, innovation, and experiential learning.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Applicants of all foreign nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Non-resident undergraduate programmes offered at CSU are eligible to apply.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be scholastically excellent and demonstrate financial need.

California State University will provide eligible international students tuition fee waivers towards one academic year of an undergraduate degree programme.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The applicants can apply to CSU through the Cal state application portal. To apply for the opportunity the applicants must contact [email protected]uchico.edu.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • F1 visa
  • High school transcripts
  • Admission Requirements: Students are required to have appeared for SAT or ACT and have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) is 3.3 or equivalent.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL IBT – 61
  • TOEFL PBT – 500
  • IELTS – 6.0
  • PTE – 47
