The University of Nottingham is providing students with the opportunity to participate in active field research working alongside academic teams and scientists by offering the Turing Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023.

Fifteen Turing scholarships will be awarded to eligible students of the University of Nottingham. Each scholarship will provide a grant to the student of up to £2,290 for six-week training on themes such as wildlife monitoring, marine research, biodiversity surveying, and more.

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can undertake research degrees in any discipline offered at Nottingham.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be paying students at the University of Nottingham.

Offered Benefits

The candidates selected for this scholarship will be awarded a grant of up to £2,290 for a six-week Research Expedition with Operation Wallacea and additionally also up to 50-60% of the total cost to a student.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applications to Nottingham are to be made via the online portal. A scholarship application can be made by including your name, student ID, and which Turing Scholarship you are interested in, in a mail and sending it to [email protected]. Direct applications can be made via the Operation Wallacea Website. Applications for the scholarship made now will be added to the waiting list as it is over-subscribed.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Personal statement
  • School reference
  • Academic documents
  • Admission Requirements: Students need to meet the entry requirements of the university.
  • Language Requirement: If English isn’t your first language, you will also need to meet the relevant English language requirements.
