The University of Exeter Business School is pleased to offer the PhD Scholarships in Management and Business to encourage high-potential students to study in the UK. The bursary is now open for the academic year 2022-2023.

The programme aims to support the most outstanding students who wish to complete a PhD in Management or Business. Successful applicants first receive funding to complete one of the University of Exeter Business School’s research masters, which provides a rigorous foundation in the required skills to conduct high-quality research. Students who meet the PhD entry criteria will receive funding for full-time study in one of the University of Exeter Business School’s PhD programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Management and Business pathway first complete the one-year MRes in Management, which prepares students for a PhD in an area requiring diverse methodologies and a solid grounding in Decisions on PhD topics and supervision will be made towards the end of the MRes, giving students plenty of time to explore a range of topics and to meet the faculty.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Students complete the MRes + PhD programme within four or five years
  • Orientation for new students takes place in mid-September 2022
  • Must be an International Students

Offered Benefits

Two selected candidates will be provided scholarships worth a stipend of £19,000 for a maximum of 4 years. For successful eligible applicants, the studentship includes tuition fees at UK/INT fee rates, Remuneration for 180 hours teaching: £3,097 (2022/23 rate, subject to tax & National Insurance)

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To apply for this programme, aspirants must have to take  admission at the university.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must provide an essay of no more than 750 words maximum explaining.
  • A CV of no more than two pages
  • The official transcript or certified copy of university grades from all past degree
  • Two academic reference letters (one must be from your most recent institution)
  • Admission Requirements: Students must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with a final grade in the top 10% of your graduating class. Most incoming students also hold a Masters’s degree.
  • Language Requirement: If relevant, valid, original Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Cambridge scores report.
