Institution: Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development
Purpose: To increase the number of professional nurses practicing in medically underserved areas of California by assisting nursing students attending California schools.
Eligibility: Applicants must be attending a California undergraduate nursing program and be fluent in a language other than English. Financial need, work experience, academic achievement and community involvement are considered. A two-year service agreement to work in a medically underserved area of California is required. Preference is given to those who expect to graduate within two years and to those who plan to remain in a medically underserved area after the service agreement has expired. Applicant must have minimum 2.0 GPA.
