Institution: National Collegiate Athletic Association
Purpose: To encourage academic excellence of student athletes by recognizing outstanding academic achievement and success in postgraduate studies.
Eligibility: Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in their undergraduate work and have competed in intercollegiate athletics at a NCAA member institution as a member of a varsity team. Applicants should be a graduating senior or be enrolled in graduate studies. If not already in a graduate program, the applicant should have the intent of pursuing a graduate degree within five years at a properly accredited, nonprofit educational institution. Scholarship funds can also apply to a professional degree program at an accredited law school, medical school or the equivalent. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that athletic participation and community service have guided them to build superior character and leadership as well as helping to influence personal and intellectual growth.

How to Apply: Applicants must be nominated by a faculty athletics representative using the online application form. Applications also include a personal essay detailing future personal and academic goals. Included with the packet is a listing of involvement in activities and honors, as well as four recommendations.
