Institution: North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs

Purpose: To support students who are dependents of disabled, deceased, combat and POW/MIA Veterans.

Eligibility: Applicants must be under age 25 and residents of North Carolina, or the natural or adopted child, prior to 15, who was born in and has resided in North Carolina since birth. The qualifying veteran must have been a legal resident of North Carolina at the time of his or her entrance into service. The veteran's qualifying criteria must have occurred during a period of war, or if during peace time, disability or death must have been a result of armed conflict or due to engagement of hazardous service.
