The Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics is offering a postdoctoral scholarship in  Mathematical Analysis at Umea University. The university is accepting applications for the academic session 2022/2023.

The scholarship is full-time for two years available to both domestic and international applicants who are commencing a  postdoctoral program at the university.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Postdoctoral scholarship within the project Mathematical Analysis
  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. This qualification requirements must be fulfilled no later than at the time of the decision about the scholarship recipient.

Offered Benefits

The grant will provide a stipend is tax-free and will be 648 000 SEK for two years, meaning 324 000 SEK per year.

  • How to Apply: To take part in this educational program, seekers are advised to be registered as a postdoctoral degree student before the application deadline. After being accepted, claimants can send their award applications with reference number 2.1.6-1178-22, both in the file name and in the subject field of the email, to  .
  • Supporting Documents: Must attach the cover letter in which you describe your research background and future ambitions, and how they fit the described project (max 3 pages),
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) with publication list,
  • Verified copy of doctoral degree certificate or documentation that clarifies when the degree of doctor is expected to be obtained,
  • Verified copies of other diplomas, list of completed academic courses and grades,
  • Copy of doctoral thesis,
  • Other documents that the applicant wishes to claim.
  • Contact information to two persons willing to act as references.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, seekers are needed to hold their bachelor and master’s degree certificates with good academic grades in the relevant subject area.
  • Language Requirements: If English isn’t your first language we have a range of courses to help you improve your English language skills.
