The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Internship Program provides paid experiences to students who are in high school or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an accredited college or university. Students who are enrolled in a home-school program, certificate program, vocational and rehabilitation program, or community college are also eligible. USDA hires students all year around. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) invites students who have been accepted for enrollment and currently enrolled students to apply for the USDA Internship Program. Student Trainees will gain valuable professional development experiences by taking advantage of career training, an individual mentor, shadowing experiences, professional webinars, and much more. Student Trainees work with esteemed scientists and senior professionals and receive on-the-job training that will create a career pathway for success. The USDA Internship Program consists of paid internship opportunities and may lead to conversion to a career-conditional appointment after graduation and completion of program requirements. The USDA Internship Program will expose students to Federal work experience and agricultural careers. Annually, USDA employs thousands of students nationwide throughout our 7 Mission Areas, 19 agencies and 16 Administrative Offices.
