The ISFF Detmold is dedicated to high-quality films by innovative filmmakers from all around the world. More than 4,000 short film submissions come from around 125 countries each year. The festival mostly focuses on non-commercial short films. From big premieres to the first work of young talents, everything is represented. In addition to the short films, there is numerous highlights of art and music during the festival. These events include interviews, podium discussions, exhibitions and parties. During the festival, workshops held where 100 participants learn to create their own short film. The 19th ISFF Detmold has the motto: “Films for All” and offers the possibility of barrier-free film viewing and listening. Selected film-blocks will be provided with audio descriptions for the blind and visually impaired, and subtitles for the hearing impaired, thus offering the possibility of inclusive participation.
