Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design is launching the 13th International Poster Triennial in Toyama. This exhibition of posters chosen from throughout the world is intended to provide a review of the current state of international poster design. Participate in this competition with your posters and win 1,000,000 yen.

Competition Categories:-

  • Category A/B

    • Category A/B accepts printed posters.

    • No special qualifications are required for Category A/B applicants, and there are no age restrictions.

    • Category A includes printed posters on any theme. 

    • Up to 5 submissions per applicant. These may be posters produced for a client, self-produced posters, published posters, or unpublished posters.

    • Category B includes self-produced, printed posters on the theme of “Invisible.” Up to 3 submissions per applicant.

    • Eligibility

      • No special qualifications are required for Category A/B applicants, and there are no age restrictions.

  • U30+Student Category

    • The U30+Student Category accepts digital submissions.

    • This recent category was established at the IPT2018 to encourage members of the younger generation aged 30 or under to participate in the IPT.

    • Eligibility: An applicant who fulfills either of the following two conditions during the submission acceptance period may participate in this category:

      • The applicant is age 30 or under (born in or after 1990). There are no other special requirements.

      • The applicant is currently enrolled as a student at an educational institution. For students, there are no age restrictions. (Please enter the name of your educational institution on the entry form.)

    •  

Entry Requirements:-

  • All submissions must be the work of the applicant.
  • All submissions must be posters produced on or after May 1, 2018.
  • Category A/B accepts printed poster submissions, and the U30+Student Category accepts digital poster submissions.

Prizes:-

The following prizes will be awarded:

  • Grand-Prix: 1,000,000 yen (one prize from the A/B categories).

  • Gold Prize: 500,000 yen (two prizes from the A/B categories).

  • Silver Prize: 300,000 yen (three prizes from the A/B categories).

  • Bronze Prize: 100,000 yen (eight prizes from the A/B categories).

  • U30+Student Gold Prize: 200,000 yen (one prize from the U30+Student category).

  • U30+Student Silver Prize: 50,000 yen (three prizes from the U30+Student category).

  • U30+Student Bronze Prize: awards certificate (up to 10 prizes from the U30+Student category).
