International PhD scholarship in Food Analytical Chemistry is a new opportunity, collaboration between the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) and the National Food Institute at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Food). This scholarship presents an exceptional opportunity for aspiring researchers to delve into the intricacies of food safety and quality, contributing to advancements in this critical field.

Eligible candidates are those with a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Methods of (Chemical) Analysis, or equivalent, coupled with experience in analytical chemistry, particularly in elemental determination at trace levels. The program seeks individuals with a passion for scientific inquiry and a commitment to academic excellence. Candidates with prior knowledge of trace element speciation analysis in foodstuffs and strong relational and teamwork skills are highly encouraged to apply.The National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) carries out monitoring, expertise, research and reference missions covering human health, health and animal welfare, and plant health. Its assessments are based on scientific expert appraisal work undertaken by independent expert committees and based on the most recent global knowledge. The Agency also ensures that the human, economic and social sciences are incorporated into its expert appraisals.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject offered by the participating universities related to food analytical chemistry
  • Admissible Criteria:
  • Hold a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Methods of (Chemical) Analysis, or equivalent
  • Experience in analytical chemistry, particularly in elemental determination at trace levels
  • Preferable prior knowledge of trace element speciation analysis in foodstuffs and other biological materials
  • Strong relational and teamwork skills
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information from analytical data
  • Proficiency in English, especially in writing reports
