About the Volunteer Opportunity:
The International Volunteer Service for Others, also known as VISA-AD, announces its reception to volunteers interested in teaching children with hearing impairments in France. The project's name is European Volunteering at the Service (EVS), and will be at an institute dedicated to hearing-impaired children, founded in 1885 and today has 6 departments dedicated to children with hearing problems accompanied by their parents. The Foundation provides its students with specialized education tailored to their age, level of study and special needs. The EVS project will be held in kindergarten l’Envol, which receives children from 2 to 6 years old, and the volunteer period is up to one year.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, you must have an interest in helping the target group, hearing impaired children. You must have knowledge of French because you will participate in a French speaking community.

Benefits or Financing:
This opportunity covers the cost of accommodation and meals, as successful applicants will serve as volunteers in France. Volunteers will be hosted in an apartment with a bathroom located in the Volunteer Institute and with a separate entrance. Volunteers will be provided with meals during the week and will share meal time with staff and children. During weekends, volunteers will either be able to eat meals at the institute's kitchen or purchase food and use the well-equipped office kitchen, in which case the host organization will reimburse the food costs. Bought by the volunteer.

About VISA-AD:
The International Volunteer Service for Others, also known as VISA-AD, has been committed to volunteering since 1959. The organization is based in Strasbourg, France. It sponsors long-term voluntary missions in the fields of social work, education, solidarity, culture, environment and health in France and Europe. The work of the organization creates a link between voluntary associations and young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who are willing to give their time to help others in need. VISA-AD organizes recruitment, guidance, support and training for young people who volunteer as part of a mission that benefits everyone in an issue or problem, for about 10 months in a partner association or institution. VISA-AD works with other associations to create projects and host volunteers interested in helping others from around the world.
