EdX offers a free online course on career paths related to network security. In this course, students will focus on the paths and paths that lead to success in the network security profession. Where they will be able to define their skills, talent and deep interests to advance towards a meaningful and informed exploration of nearly 32 digital paths related to network security. By the end of this course, students will complete a self-assessment consisting of several elements that will help them determine the next step that they must take in their career path.

Course objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

[1] Understand the many job opportunities available in the field of Cyber-Security.

[2] Apply and use problem-solving skills to conduct a self-assessment that determines compatibility with career paths.

[3] Narrowing their exploration of the most compatible workflows in network security.

[4] Evaluate their knowledge, skills and capabilities and their compatibility with business requirements in the field of network security.

[5] Discovering and identifying the nature of appropriate training and other next steps necessary to meet business requirements in the field of network security and achieving its goals.

Course requirements:
The only requirements needed to join this course are curiosity and interest in the field of network security.

About the instructor:
This session will be given by Barbara Endicott-Popovsky, director of the Center for Information Assurance and Cyber Security in Washington. She teaches "network security" in a number of Washington University programs.
