Forward Global Women (FGW) created Dr. Rula Kawas Research Fellowship in cooperation with the Kawas family to honor and commemorate Dr. Rula Al Kawas who was one of the founding members of the organization. Dr. Rula Kawas is considered a prestigious academic and active in the field of women's rights, as she succeeded in establishing the first women's studies program at the University of Amman in Jordan, which was started in 1997, then grew to become a women's studies department, which today is a specialized center for women at the local and international levels . The department offers masters courses on various subjects, including "gender and human rights", "gender and politics", "gender and sustainable development" and "women in the media and mass communication". Dr. Kawas has participated in other related topics such as women as building blocks for peace, women's security, sustainable women's empowerment and similar fields of importance to women and women's leadership.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be Jordanian graduates (master's or doctorate) from the Women's Studies Program in Amman that Dr. Kawas helped to launch, and they must have excellent certificates and are required to be proficient in written and spoken English, and knowledge in scientific writing.

FGW will discuss the proposed topic with the applicant, provide continuous supervision over the duration of the project and help finalize the submitted paper. You will also seek to publish the proposed paper either as an article in an international journal or as a chapter in an edited book, in addition to support for a grant of up to $ 2,000.

How To Apply:
Applicants are expected to write a scientific paper (about 50,000 words) on one of the topics studied by the Women's Studies Program or any topic that is in line with the Forward Global Women mission. Applicants must provide a clear methodology, do fieldwork and analyze key findings.
