IDRAK offers a free online course on child mental health.

Course Objectives:

This course aims to develop a basic understanding of the most common psychiatric illnesses that may occur in children and adolescents, especially those who have already been traumatized. This course will also help mothers and educators to track the stages of children's development, and increase their knowledge in ways to distinguish between emotional disorder that may suffer This includes children and mental illnesses that may require intervention by specialists in this field.

This free and accessible course is aimed at people working with children in various fields including psychologists, social workers, doctors and nurses, occupational and physical therapists, speech therapists, teachers, as well as parents who are responsible for raising and psychologically preparing their children. There are no prerequisites to participate in this particular course, as interest and desire to participate in it are sufficient.

Course Instructor:

The course is delivered by Dr. Hisham Hammouda, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, a consultant psychiatrist at the Children's Hospital of Boston and vice president of the International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and a consultant with the World Health Organization in child and adolescent mental health. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hesham went on to complete his training in psychiatry at Harvard University, USA. He received a specialization in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry from this prestigious university. He also received a master's degree in public health from the same university with more than 30 researches. Scientific published in international scientific journals. Dr. Hesham is the recipient of several academic awards for distinguished scientists from Harvard University, the Children's Hospital in Boston, the World Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association.
