EdX offers a 5-week online course on Power System Integration. During this course, students will be able to integrate their existing knowledge and global multidisciplinary strategies to increase their energy expertise, in addition to that they will learn to create smart and sustainable integrated energy systems. Students will benefit from this course if they are a class in the energy sector or simply as a group interested in sustainable development as individuals. They will learn how the integration of energy systems can affect their lives, work or research, and how they can contribute to this field.

Basic requirements
The applicant for this course must have basic knowledge in the following areas:

  • Energy Technology: Principles of Conversion, Types of Electricity Generation, Battery Stockpile, and Electrical Transportation.
  • Energy policy and markets.
  • Demand response and consumer behavior.
  • What you will learn in this course

After this course, you will be able to:

  • It identifies various elements of the energy system, such as energy system technologies, policies and regulation, energy markets, electricity and consumer behavior.
  • Explain how each of these elements interacts and contributes to the integration of energy systems.
  • The contributions of experts from various disciplines are explained in the energy field from engineering and economics to behavioral sciences.
  • Explain your (potential) role in the Energy Systems Integration framework.
  • Systems apply to your expertise.

Course course

  • Module 1: In Module 1, you will learn about the concept of energy system integration by combining the different dimensions of the energy system. This will be illustrated by providing specific examples.
  • Module 2: In this unit, you will learn more about the impact of policies and regulation on other aspects of the energy system, such as greenhouse gas emissions and electricity prices.
  • Module 3: Module Three focuses on the development of electromobility, and will ask some questions about people's acceptance of it and how it affects the electrical network.
  • Module 4: Module 4 will test you to think about the future of electrical power systems around the world, with a discussion on the possibility of creating an ideal infrastructure at the technical and social/economic levels.
  • Module 5: Finally, consuming individuals are pictured and their potential roles in energy systems integration detailed.
