The International Water Center (IWC) offers a partial tuition Master's Scholarship to all the international applicants who want to enroll in the Master of Catchment Science program. IWC believes that skilled water leaders are critical to addressing complex water challenges across the world. As such, the IWC will grant an IWC Master’s Scholarship of up to A$9,500 to help in this task.

Conditions:

  1. Partial scholarships are available only to cover part of the tuition fees for the IWC Master of Catchment Science commencing in Trimester 1, 2020.
  2. Partial scholarships cannot be used in conjunction with an IWC full scholarship or any other full-tuition scholarship and will be forfeited under such conditions.
  3. Recipients are required to declare to IWC any provider of full-tuition scholarship when enrolling into the Program. Recipients are required to inform IWC in writing if their circumstances change during the course of the Program.
  4. Before booking their flights, students must send a copy of their itinerary and estimated costs to the IWC Education Officer at education@watercentre.org  If pre-approved, IWC will send an email notification to the student who will then be able to proceed with their booking and pay for their flights.
  5. Original tickets and flight receipts must be provided to the IWC office upon arrival in Brisbane, Australia. Refunds for the flight to Brisbane will be processed after the recipient has successfully passed the Graduate Certificate (trimester 1) of the program. Refunds will be processed after the final marks have been released by Griffith in July 2020.
  6. This offer is only valid for return economy class airfares to and from Brisbane via the most direct route and up to the maximum value of A$2,500 including all taxes.

Responsibilities:

Scholarship Recipients may be expected to participate in activities beyond IWC Master of Catchment Science programs regular coursework requirements. These additional activities are required but will not result in additional academic credit, and may include but are not limited to:

  1. Collaborating IWC's marketing and communications department to participate in surveys, photoshoots or provide interviews and written articles for promotional purposes.
  2. Presenting research at selected conferences during the program, as designated by IWC.

Failure to participate in the aforementioned activities - when required by IWC- may result in the forfeiture of the scholarship.

Eligibility:

  1. Partial scholarships are available to support self-funded international students who do not receive any full-tuition scholarship.
  2. To receive a partial scholarship, eligible students must receive a full offer of admission from Griffith University for the Master of Catchment Science (MCS) commencing in Trimester 1, 2020 and have successfully enrolled.
  3. The IWC Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes and Graduate Certificate in Catchment Hydrology are not available to international students as they require part-time study which is not available to international students for visa reasons.
  4. There is no application required for the partial scholarship. The partial scholarship will be paid directly to Griffith University and the IWC will liaise directly with Griffith to credit the partial scholarship towards the tuition fees.

Benefits:

The total value for this scholarship is A$9,500, which covers:

  • A$7000 towards the cost of tuition for the Master of Catchment Science program
  • Return air travel up to the value of A$2500 to Australia for all full-time Master program applicants.
