The Shafi Family Scholarship was established to assist and encourage students, preferably from developing countries who are undertaking a PhD in Engineering. Its purpose is to recognize and assist in meeting their education costs. The scholarship is a contribution to tuition fees only.

Eligibility:

The scholarship is open to students who have completed at least 2.5 years of their PhD studies but require more time to complete their thesis. Previous scholarship holders will be considered. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of an assessment of the student’s ability to complete the thesis within the specified time frame. First preference will be given to students from developing countries followed by those that can demonstrate clear financial hardship which could impact their ability to complete their studies.

Additional information

The value of the scholarship is $5,000 (subject to funds availability). fees will be paid directly by the Scholarships Office into the student's fees account.
