The University of Queensland in Australia is offering Howard and Gladys Sleath scholarship. Which is an annual scholarship, dedicated to present financial support for students enrolling in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program in the school of Music, who is undertaking a practical study of an orchestral stringed instrument played with a bow. And it will be awarded to only one student.

Eligibility:

  1. Be enrolled full-time in the first year of the program.
  2. This scholarship is for Australians, as well as international students.
  3. Submitting an application to audition on an orchestral stringed instrument played with a bow for the Bachelor of Music (Honors) program to the Head of The School of Music, by the closing date for applications. The scholarship is awarded to the applicant showing greatest merit as demonstrated by audition.

Funding:

The successful applicant will get $7000, that is tenable for one year and paid in two installments. The first payment will be made after the census date in Semester 1 subject to the recipient being enrolled full-time in the program. The second payment will be made after the census date in Semester 2 subject to the recipient, in case of the student continued to be enrolled full-time in the program, and obtained a GPA of at least 5.
