Inspired by authors, informed by algorithms, and connected by over a million readers and writers worldwide, Inkitt is opening a new chapter for your short stories. Inkitt’s Short Story Contest gives authors the opportunity to share their short stories and showcase their talent with readers worldwide.

Competition Terms:

The winners will be selected every month.
The word count should be between approximately 5,000 and 10,000 words.
Winning authors cannot enter the contest more than once with the same short story.
Likes will be reset at the end of the month so we can decide our winners, and ensure contest entries are fair for all
We will collect data on your submission from the day you join until the contest's end date.
Contests are not genre-specific, but fanfiction will not be accepted
You may submit multiple entries over multiple months
Short stories must be in English
You must own the rights to your short story
Previously or currently self-published books are accepted
You retain all rights to your stories while posted on Inkitt
All non-winning entrants will roll over into the next month unless they leave the contest or win.

Prize:

1st Prize: $150 cash, a badge for your book cover and a feature on all of Inkitt’s social media pages!
2nd Prize: $50 cash prize
3rd place: $30 cash prize
