Saba IP is offering a great job opportunity to who have Bachelor of Engineering and good skills to work as an assistant in its Egypt Office. The IP Assistant/Administrator – Patents is responsible for effecting and completing all patent-related matters for foreign and multinational clients into the region; and is also responsible for managing patent-related matters for local and regional firms seeking advice and support for protecting their ideas in the region and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews, prepares and files patent applications in various countries; reviews, advises and replies to examination reports;  completes registration of application on grant, publication and issuance.
  2. Monitors deadlines; applies and utilizes guidelines and procedures for prosecution and invoicing; familiarizes oneself with  specific client technology(ies) and provides both technical and legal support.
  3. Provides technical assistance to both branch offices/agents and clients.
  4. Advises on allowability and patentability; develops strategy for local or regional patent portfolio.
  5. Advises on filing strategy and provides support from filing to registration of patents
  6. Develops and maintains relationships with local/regional clients by offering advice, training and support.
  7. Familiarizes oneself with patent laws and regulations in multiple countries and maintains current knowledge on updates and changes.
  8. Familiarizes oneself with Saba IP’s electronic management system (IPMS) for docketing, tracking, updating and analyzing filings and portfolios.
  9. Attends, participates and/or presents at local, regional and international conferences to promote patents and Saba IP in the region.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics (preferred), Electromechanical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  2. 0-3 years of experience in the field
  3. Exposure and experience in IP is a plus
  4. Excellent command of Arabic and English (French is a plus)
  5. Good communication skills
  6. Ability to work independently and within a team
  7. Personal initiative and motivation to learn and grow within the firm and the industry
