AIESEC offers a volunteer opportunity to protect marine and coastal ecosystems in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The volunteer will come to contribute to the conservation of natural resources, mainly the green, olive and hawksbill turtles, due to the danger of extinction because of hunters, fishermen, roosts and local citizens. The volunteer will be immersed in nature and will live in harmony with the animals. 

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol on the beach Drake and beach won.
  • Morning walk to locate turtle nests.
  • Caring for the nursery.
  • Nest relocation in the Nursery.
  • Release of baby turtles.
  • Exhumation of turtle nests.
  • Keep records of turtle nests.
  • Clean the nursery area.
  • Cleaning of patrol equipment.
  • Patrol at night.
  • Recycling on the beach.

Required Skills:

  • Development Environment (IDE).
  • Leadership.
  • Adaptability.
  • Critical Thinking.
  • Background in biology and ecology.
  • English, Spanish or Portuguese.
