The Center for Public Leadership at Harvard's Kennedy School offers the Emirates Leadership Initiative (ELI) Fellowship for Master's students interested in social change. The fellowship aims to provide a critical framework for preparing the Arab world's next generation of leaders. This fellowship supports Emirati students in particular to the importance of the UAE in the Middle East as a gateway to business in the region. The UAE is helping to set the standard for new developments in the areas of energy, infrastructure development, and education.

The program includes many activities such as attending weekly speaker lectures, seminars and workshops, as well as opportunities to connect with other Center for Public Leadership fellows and alumni.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The student must be a citizen of the UAE or one of the countries within the Arab League.
  • The student must be enrolled in the first year at Harvard Kennedy School is one of the master's programs.

Selection Criteria:

  • The selection will be based on excellent academic credentials, a deep commitment to public service, and strong leadership potential in the Middle East.
  • Ten fellows will be selected each year, half from the United Arab Emirates and a half from other countries within the Arab League.

Funding:

The program covers the following costs:

  • Tuition fees.
  • Living stipend.
  • Health fees.

The school offers master's degrees in public policy, public administration, and international development, grants several doctoral degrees, and many executive education programs.
