The Center for strategic studies is happy to welcome applicants from Jordan and all over the world to its internship program. The center works on a variety of topics surrounding Arab and Middle Eastern politics. Successful applicants will be coupled with a full-time researcher at the CSS to assist this researcher with her/his research.
Applicants can apply to work on one of these areas:
- Politics of the Arab World and the Middle East.
- Public opinion and surveying in the Arab World and the Middle East.
- Gender and Sexuality Studies in the Arab World and the Middle East.
- Islamic political activism and Islamist organization.
- Jordanian Politics.
- Social and Labor Movements in the Arab World and the Middle East.
Eligibility:
- Internship accepts bachelor, master and PhD students from all over the world.
- Candidates must be current students or new graduates.
- Knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not a requirement.
Your Responsibilities:
Interns responsibilities will include the following:
- Act as a research assistant to a researcher at the CSS.
- Assist in the preparation of newsletters and reports.
- Assist in research projects at the Center.
- Assist with conference organization at the Center.
- Depending on the willingness of the intern’s supervisor, CSS researchers might also act as advisors to intern’s individual research projects.
Benefits:
- Interns will be provided with office space and IT facilities.
- Interns will receive a certificate on the successful completion of the internship.
- Interns will be allowed to attend Center events for free.
- Note: The internships are not paid and that successful candidate must make their own visa, accommodation and travel arrangements.
About the Center:
The Center for Strategic Studies is aiming to conduct studies in political, military, economic, and social aspects of issues that interest Jordan and the Arab world, connected to the security of the region, and affect its future, in addition to holding opinion polls, with the goal of providing researchers and policymakers necessary facts and data, organizing events and activities like seminars and conferences.
