You are eligible to apply if you:

Are enrolled in a program at The University of Queensland with a declared French/French Advanced major
Have completed at least four units of FREN coded courses
Have identified an opportunity which commences within 12 months that will enhance your studies of French

Selection criteria:

We'll consider:

Your academic achievement in FREN coded courses undertaken to date
The strength of your personal statement outlining personal and leadership qualities, and the value of the proposed experience to your academic and/or professional development.

About this scholarship:

Established in 2024 and maintained by an endowment originating from a bequest from Dorothy Marsden, a French Teacher at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School. Significant donations were also received from the family and friends of the late Emily John, former Honours student; from the French Teachers Branch of the Modern Language Teachers Association of Queensland; and further donors who acknowledged family, classmates, students, teachers and colleagues in French or simply donated to support future students.
