The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is offering a great job opportunity to work as an Assistant Field Officer in Jordan Municipal Support Project (JMSP) Department. The Assistant shall Provide administrative and operational support for the project. S/he shall provide support to all project’s aspect and work in close coordination with field officers, in particular in the following areas of work; communication with partner municipalities, coordinate and work on logistics, facilitate the work of Canadian volunteers, technical specialists and maintain a good relationship with all field partners.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the project, including planning and organizing of field activities as required by the project.
- Provide administrative and operational support for the project.
- Obtain, analyze, and review offers to provide recommendations to management for the procurement of goods.
- Prepare purchase orders and send order requests to suppliers.
- Follow up on invoices, updating trackers, filing, and organizing documents for payment processing.
- Monitors the use of workstation supplies and updates files as required.
- Provide assistance to the project partners in the field to ensure their effective participation in the field activities.
- Arranges logistical and support services in support of the field activities.
- Acts as a point of contact for the visits of the staff to the field.
- Assist in the coordination of the field activities.
- Develop a rapport with the project’s partners to ensure smooth and efficient project activities.
- Makes recommendations to the Deputy Director to improve the activities.
- Support field officers and the project’s teams in training programs.
- Assist in facilitating the work of the Canadian volunteers.
- Maintains close coordination with the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer.
- Contributes to the monitoring efforts of the project activities and contributes to the annual workplans and progress reports.
- Maintains close coordination with the technical specialists and provides information on issues that may affect their work.
- Assist field officers in the coordination of the project.
Eligibility Requirements:
- University Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in the implementation and management projects, ideally related to municipal development.
- Candidate must be good team player with strong organizational skills.
- Experience related to social inclusion/gender equality is desirable.
- Good knowledge and technical experience in sustainable community development.
- Experience working with a non-profit organization or international organization.
- Good written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Applicant must be residents of one of the southern governorates, preferable Wadi Musa residents.
- Ability to travel within the Southern and Center parts of Jordan.
