The Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition opened its application. It is intended to enlighten students and engineering, design, and architecture professionals about aluminum extrusions' superior advantages and many applications.

Design Competition Tracks:

The 2020 Design Competition offers two possible tracks to compete in:

Student Class:
- The Student Class is open to students currently enrolled in high school, college/university, technical school, or graduate school.
- It is highly recommended to include a 3-D printed prototype of your component design
- Your extrusion design must fit within no larger than a 10-inch circle size to be considered for an award.
- Provide as much support material as possible to illustrate the design, its utility, and practicality (i.e., artboards, images – jpeg preferred – drawings, full and complete explanation of how your entry meets the four judging criteria: creativity, practicality, product/process advantage, and market impact),
- Proper grammar and spelling are a must.
Professional Class:
- The Professional Class is open to designers, engineers, architects, manufacturers and others who design components and systems.
- Cash prizes are awarded in four categories: Architectural/Structural, Transportation, Engineered Products and Alternative Energy.

Cash Prizes & Student Scholarship Awards:

Your design could win money! Enter the Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition to compete for cash prizes and student scholarships totaling $27,000. One Grand Prize $3,500, awarded across all categories and classes

Professional Class – $11,500 in Cash awards:
- Structural /Architectural - $2,000
- Transportation - $2,000
- Engineered Products - $2,000
- Alternative Energy - $2,000
Student Class – $15,500 will be presented as cash awards:
- First Place - $5,000
- Second Place - $4,000
- Third Place - $3,000
- Bonnell Sustainable Design Award - $3,500
