IRC announces a part time job opportunity to work as Sr compliance officer USG (Short Term) in Washington DC, USA ( opened to remote based ) for 3 months.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree is preferred) in a related discipline.
  2. From 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  3. Demonstrated experience and expertise in interpreting and applying statutory and regulatory language in executing awards and contracts from USG entities and in maintaining a current knowledge of changes in the language, application and enforcement of this language.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and prior experience working with a variety of USG agencies such as DOS, USAID, DOJ, USDA, DHHS, CDC, etc.
  5. Capable solution-oriented problem solver and also team collaborator.
  6. Experience with USG contracts and CAS compliance a plus.
  7. High level of organizational and interpersonal ethics.
  8. Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  9. Experience with USG contracts and cost accounting standards compliance.
  10. Language skills in French, Spanish, or Arabic are a plus but are not required.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Sr. compliance officer – USG, act as a focal point for all major compliance matters related to US Government donors (Department of State (DOS), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Justice (DOJ), Center for Disease Control (CDC), the global fund and other donors as assigned.
  • Serve as the IRC’s in-house organizational expert on USG grants and contracts rules and regulations, staying abreast of all financial, administrative, and contract related business practice developments.
  • Disseminate award/contract policy changes in a timely and user friendly manner throughout the agency as needed.
  • Assess current contracts, systems, and procedures against donor requirements and provide recommendations to strengthen contract readiness.
  • Support a portfolio of awards from domestic and international program departments to assist in resolution of award management issues, such as general compliance questions and interpretations, delays in agreement signing, delays in payments, audit findings, irregular interpretation of award terms, etc.
  • Advise both program and finance stakeholders of any changes made to USG compliance regulations and assess their impact on IRC programs.
  • Engage with field offices and regional teams as needed to provide input and develop solutions on major USG compliance matters.
