The Lewis Center at Princeton University in the USA offers the Hodder Fellowship for writers and artists from all over the world. The Lewis Center believes that the arts help people understand life. It is committed to fostering an academic environment that acknowledges and encourages diversity and differences. This fellowship does not require specific academic qualifications as the selection will be made based on artistic achievement.

Eligibility Criteria:

Writers and non-literary artists of exceptional promise who wish to pursue independent projects at Princeton University during the academic year.
Potential Hodder Fellows are composers, choreographers, performance artists, visual artists, writers or other kinds of artists or humanists who have “much more than ordinary intellectual and literary gifts”; they are selected more “for promise than for performance.” Given the strength of the applicant pool, most successful Fellows have published a first book or have similar achievements in their own fields;
This fellowship cannot be used to fund work leading to a Ph.D. or any other advanced degree.

Fellowship Duration:

The duration of the fellowship is ten months.

Funding:

An $84,000 stipend is provided for this 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow.
