We have two post-doctoral positions with fellowships granted by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), in a research project aiming to discover new innovative medicines for the treatment of tropical parasitic diseases in collaboration with two leading international drug discovery organizations – Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) and Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) – both with a significant track record in the discovery and development of new treatments for neglected patients. These vacancies are linked to a project supported by FAPESP through Research Partnership for Technological Innovation Program (PITE-FAPESP) and coordinated by Prof. Luiz Carlos Dias, from UNICAMP (University of Campinas, Brazil). The selected post-doctoral students will be responsible for the design of the target molecules and synthetic routes, working on the chemical series provided by DNDi.
Requirements (position 01): experience in organic synthesis, preferably applied to medicinal chemistry. Documents: letter of interest, updated CV and 2 letters of recommendation.
Requirements (position 02): PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Organic Synthesis, obtained in the last 7 (seven) years.
For Brazilians, previous experience in research laboratories abroad for more than 8 months is important. Good communication skills in English is also a plus.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
