We are looking for a new expert to join our team.
We have an opening for the full time position of
LANGUAGE EDITOR
at our Kotka campus starting on 1.3.2021.
Key responsibilities include
ensuring consistent, high quality English language in articles and other materials published by Xamk,
English language editing and proofreading of professional and scientific articles, and study materials,
maintaining close collaboration with authors, content editors, publication specialist, and other team members,
contributing to the development of the new Publication and Production Services unit of Xamk.
Required skills and qualifications
Relevant Master’s degree,
Fluent oral and excellent written English,
at least 3 years of working experience in writing, editing, and/or proofreading in English language,
ICT skills and experience in using translation software.
A successful candidate should also meet the following criteria
ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,
ability to work independently,
outstanding coordination and communication skills,
ability to synthesize information with clarity.
Other desirable skills
professional skills in some other language(s), especially Chinese,
high level of cultural intelligence,
substantial knowledge of some research area(s) of Xamk.
Pay and other employment contract terms are determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the Private Education Sector issued by the Finnish Education Employers. Final appointment to the position is subject to the successful completion of a probationary period.
