The Developmental Neurobiology group located in Brussels, Belgium is seeking a junior postdoc with “international mobility” status (i.e. who did not reside or work in Belgium for more than 24 months in the last three years).

The main purpose of research in our laboratory is to understand the mechanisms underlying the development and evolution of the nervous system, with a particular emphasis on the role of cell polarity and cytoskeleton. We use several molecular and cellular methodologies, including embryonic stem cells, transgenic mice design & production, neuroanatomy, live imaging, slice culture, as well as other ex vivo assays.

The position is funded on a yearly basis for up to 3-4 years. Selected candidates will study the neural phenotype of mice bearing mutations in genes of interest. While mutant mice are already available in the lab, the candidate will develop and use embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells, organoids to understand the impact of these mutations in humans.

Expertise in cell biology, live imaging and organoids is required. Candidates with developmental neurobiology background will be preferred.

For applications, please email to fadel.tissir@uclouvain.be
