Do you want to learn the basics of academic and business writing? EdX offers this free online course that discusses an introduction to academic and business writing for English language learners, in partnership with the US Department of State. The six-week course includes material on vocabulary, diction, tone, editing, and revision; as well as focusing on the demands of the different styles of writing. The required effort will be 3-5 hours each week, and there will be short writing assignments, quizzes, and journal entries. By the end of the course, you will be more familiar with persuasive writing techniques, in addition to gaining proofreading, editing, and communication skills. The kind of vocabulary you use and grammar correctness will also be improved. You can receive a certificate to highlight the knowledge and skills you have gained for $49. Online Application
