Thomson Reuters Foundation invites smart, ambitious graduates or early-career reporters to join their global team of 2,500 text and visuals journalists through applying to Reuters Trainee Program 2020. 

Eligibility:

you should:

  1. Have a clear commitment to a  journalism career.
  2. Have proven ability to tell rich stories in words, video or both.
  3. Have a drive to build sources and break news.
  4. Be able to generate original, relevant story ideas.
  5. Be fluent in spoken and written English.
  6. Be fluent in relevant languages, e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Farsi, Spanish.
  7. Have up to 3 years of professional journalism experience.
  8. Have proven ability to generate exclusive, agenda-setting stories.
  9. Have experience of shooting or editing video.
  10. Have knowledge of finance and economics.
  11. Have experience in data journalism or investigative reporting.
  12. Have photography skills.

Benefits:

  • The intensive month of training in London, then 8 months in a Reuters newsroom in one of the following countries: China, Singapore, UK, Mexico, South Africa, Egypt, Lebanon or the United Arab Emirates.
  • Opportunity to become a staff correspondent or video journalist if you perform strongly.
  • Successful candidates will be remunerated in the currency of the bureau in which they are placed, in line with global Thomson Reuters policies.
