2020 Open Call for ECL Youth Ambassadors

The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) coordinates a network of young activists who raise awareness on cancer prevention across the WHO European region. The ECL Youth Ambassadors programme is a voluntary commitment to promote the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC) at the national, regional and local level. Being an ECL Youth Ambassador means connecting with an EU-wide network of passionate citizens and having the opportunity to represent ECL at national and international events.
The ECL Youth Ambassadors programme brings together students and young professionals from different backgrounds and countries interested in cancer prevention and motivated to share this enthusiasm with their peers across Europe. They represent ECL in their countries of residence and organize enterprising activities to promote and disseminate the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC) at the national, regional and local level.

ECL Youth Ambassadors can be students, young professionals, or volunteers from any discipline and background with an interest in health promotion and cancer prevention. Youth Ambassadors should be between 18-35 years old and residing in one of the countries listed below. The key requirement is that Ambassadors should be willing to disseminate and promote the messages of the European Code Against Cancer in their local contexts and have time to dedicate throughout the year to engage in 2 collaborative campaigns and organize at least 1 action in their country of residence.
In 2020 we are focusing on recruiting Ambassadors in underrepresented countries within the programme.  We are looking for Ambassadors residing in the following countries: Andorra – Albania – Azerbaijan – Belarus – Croatia – Cyprus – Czech Republic – Denmark – Finland – Georgia – Germany – Iceland – Italy – Palestine – Kazakhstan – Kyrgyzstan – Kosovo  – Latvia – Lithuania – Luxembourg – Malta – Monaco – Montenegro – Norway – Moldova – Romania – Russia – Sweden – Slovakia – Tajikistan – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan.

Please not that being an ECL Youth Ambassadors is a voluntary, unpaid role. In return for supporting the dissemination of the ECAC, ECL commits to provide Youth Ambassadors with training opportunities and resources to support their own projects and campaigns aimed at promoting cancer prevention messages to the general public and their peers.
