Anantara Hotels, Resorts, and Spas in Oman offer a job opportunity as a Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Understand the business strategy and positioning of the resort and the brand and is able to effectively articulate this positioning in the marketplace.
  2. Maintain a personal up-to-date knowledge on all Anantara product and service offerings, and the products, services, rates and new developments of key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends.
  3. Ensure the achievement of MICE sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. Evaluate group requests & Manage the group enquiries generated the Sales team with the Groups Sales Manager
  4. Continually review the actual production of each account against the potential for that account, and review suggestions for improvement with department leadership on all groups, MICE Accounts and corporate accounts with regular MICE business. Conduct site inspection professionally to all accounts and guests following the brand standard and as per the senior team members’ advice.
  5. Support the team on all entertainments, site inspections and clients’ briefings whilst in the resort. Achieve personal financial and non-financial performance objectives, working with department leadership to ensure these objectives are met.
  6. Handles negotiations to ensure maximization of revenue income, Solicit group and banquet business through action plan preparation and execution. Ability to travel 50% of the time to solicit group business
  7. Participate in tradeshows, conventions and trade-related exhibitions. Actively participate in client familiarization trips, site inspections, MICE sales trips and roadshows as required to meet the MICE sales targets personally and of the resort.
  8. Liaise effectively with all operational colleagues, providing support and information to ensure accurate delivery of the promise. Drive opportunities to upsell and cross-sell Anantara products
  9. Maintain full working knowledge of the IT support tools used in the world of sales today, including sales-specific software, property PMS, the Microsoft Office toolset. Follow MHG’s procedure when outsourcing third party items and ensure following the LAOP.
  10. Visit the customer with the Sales Manager to guarantee the success of the biggest groups and events. Get involved with the negotiations for groups and events to maximize the results
  11. Coordinate the “groups meeting” with the vital information about the groups and events that will happen in the next 10 days. To know and promote the hotel facilities and also to have the knowledge of competitors’ strengths and weakness
  12. Organize the hotel’s visit and attend the unexpected requests. Be the contact between the client and the hotel staff, when it’s necessary

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree or a hotel school certificate with a minimum of 2 years of S&M’s hotel experience.
  2. Proven background in MICE sales in a 5 stars hotel with a minimum of 2 years’ MICE.
  3. Ability to manage the relationship with team members, key corporate and MICE.
  4. Ability to manage sales strategies, pricing strategy, sales-related requirements.
  5. Understand the local market behaviour
  6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Arabic & other international languages a plus
  7. Strong computer-related skills
