ClimateLaunchpadis the world’s largest green business ideas competition. It aims at unlocking the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for those ideas. ClimateLaunchpad is run in Egypt for the second time by Youthinkgreen Egypt. Youthinkgreen Egypt is an international youth movement dedicated to empowering and educating youth to act for sustainable development in their local and global communities.

ClimateLaunchpad’s Mission:

Their mission is to tackle climate change, one start-up at a time. They do this by helping entrepreneurs across the globe build successful businesses with a huge impact on fixing climate change.

How does it work?

ClimateLaunchpad is a business school in disguise; a 6-month learning program shaped as a competition. It consists of three rounds:

Round 1: Boot Camp:

A National jury selects 12-25 business ideas per country for participation in ClimateLaunchpad. These teams enter the national 2-day Boot Camps.

Round 2: Intensive coaching and National Finals:
In the weeks after Boot Camp teams attend six intensive Coaching sessions. After that, they are ready to rock the National Finals where they will pitch in front of the National jury. The Top-2 of each country will enter the next stage of the competition or the Global Grand Final.

Round 3: Global Grand Final:
At the Global Grand Final, the teams pitch their idea in front of leading investors and entrepreneurs, and for an audience of around 700 people. The jury will select a maximum of 16 finalists to compete for the ultimate win: access to a renowned Accelerator and prize money.
