Novartis is looking for a qualified Market Access Manager to join the team in Algeria for 2020. 

Your responsibilities:

  1. Propose and implement market access strategic approaches in coordination with other departments (marketing, medical, regulatory…) and ensure best launch and in market prices aligned with management decisions and global strategies.
  2. Anticipate regulatory changes / decisions that may impact the business and generics/copies entry into the market by a continuous regulatory and competitive intelligence.
  3. Work collaboratively with cross functional teams on strategic initiatives (e.g. local manufacturing) to overcome potential reimbursement hurdles.
  4. Communicate and translate the product’s value into scenarios with commercial significance, proactively influence the health care political environment through continuous lobbying and cooperation with the evaluators.
  5. Meet and retain stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry and establish and maintain close relationships with key opinion leaders.
  6. Country product access timelines: time to market; price vs. targets.
  7. Understanding competitive environment and requirements from country and local HA’s.
  8. Understanding and communicating customer insights to recognize business opportunities.
  9. Building and implementation of market access plans.
  10. Accurate qualitative and quantitative input into budget and strategic planning.
  11. Implementation of a state of the art pre-launch plan and novel Market Access approaches; identification of future competitive scenarios.
  12. Listing in national drug list: ensuring best launch and in-market prices; shaping reference price decisions.
  13. Influencing key decision making & national health policy: build alliances and networks to capture customer insights; contributing to cross functional team to optimize business and commercial outcomes; contributing to the regulatory decision making process and policy environment.
  14. MA projects management and execution: devising innovative MA initiatives to guarantee a sustainable competitive advantage.
  15. New brands pricing strategy development: Accounting for optimal prices of launch and in market brands; market research for co-payment level of acceptance.
  16. Proactive maintenance of brands already on the market: new pricing requirements import bans and overall expenditures restrictions; generic threats; contributing with an understanding of the impact on business strategy caused by competitors’ actions.
  17. Monitoring and updating pricing databases (Paris) introduction and monitoring of price approval.
  18. Building local HEOR data: preparing local value dossiers for new brands; developing local health economic studies.
  19. Tendering excellence: optimizing tender outcomes through tender excellence process implementation.

Minimum requirements:

  1. University degree in Science.
  2. Graduate degree in economics or business would be desirable.
  3. English & Local country languages: Arabic, French.
  4. Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate relationship between scientific, financial, economic, and legal aspects of drug pricing.
  5. > 2 years’ experience in Pharma industry.
  6. Excellent understanding of regulatory environment.
  7. Has a thorough understanding of the country regulatory environment and drug pricing and reimbursement regulation.
  8. Thorough understanding of country Pharma industry and competitor products.
  9. Excellent understanding of Pharma product registration and reimbursement processes.
  10. High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  11. Proven analytic/quantitative ability.
  12. Ability to engage regulators on Pharma-economic topics.
  13. Ability to manage key projects.
