Amazon Music is offering the 2020 Machine Learning Internship for PhD students from all over the world to join the Music Personalization team in Berlin, Germany for 3-6 months.

Responsibilities:

As an Applied Scientist intern, you will transform the way people enjoy music through personalized recommendations, search results or song sequencing.
You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to design and evaluate new machine learning models using audio features, meta-data, search queries or customer's listening behavior to create a personalized customer experience.
You will work with software developers and other teams to design and implement statistical models for recommending the right music at the right time considering the context and behavior of a customer.
Being a part of an agile team where your ideas have the potential to reach millions.
You will work on cutting-edge consumer-facing products, where every single team member is a critical voice in the decision-making process.
Being able to leverage the resources of a Fortune-500 company within the atmosphere of a start-up.

Basic qualifications:

On-track for a postgraduate degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics with specialization in machine learning.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: deep learning, probabilistic modeling, data processing & data analysis, statistical machine learning.
Enthusiasm for applying machine learning to real-world problems.
Computer science grounding in a range of algorithms, data structures, and programming languages; experience in Python and/or MXNet is a plus.
Ability to present your beliefs clearly and compellingly in both verbal and written form.

Preferred qualifications:

Ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts.
Experience with neural machine translation and deep learning frameworks.
