UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as it is looking for a volunteer with a talent for illustrating, to work for UNITAR. The mssion is to draw approximately eight illustrations for a scenario in an e-learning course on sustainable energy and food security.

UNITAR is a training agency of the United Nations, designing and delivering a multitude of face-to-face and online learning solutions. The team is currently designing an e-learning course that will equip field humanitarian program officers with the knowledge and skills needed to design sustainable energy projects. The e-learning course will be accompanied by a case example of a girl and her family in Uganda. This story will be illustrated. 

Duration and working hours:

11-20 hours per week for overall 6 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Experience in illustrating stories.
  2. High level of creativity.
  3. Good command of the English language.

Volunteer duties:

The volunteer will draw scenes of a 15 year old girl and her family's life in Uganda and how access to efficient, affordable and clean energy can facilitate their lives. Therefore familiarity with a central-African setting may be advantageous.

Required supporting materials:

  1. Applicant needs to include/attach samples of his/her work portfolio that represent their illustration style potentially fitting for this project.
  2. The files will need to be shared in a digital version.
