IRC requires a full time field coordinator at Al Hassakah, Syria in operations sector.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • University degree in management, community development or equivalent qualification.
  • 4 years of professional experience with preference for experience working with international NGOs as minimum.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity and proven staff management and team building skills.
  • Strong supply chain management skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Excellent management and organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while being a strong team player with proven management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to live and work under pressure in an unstable working environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Experience and reliability in carrying out safety and security protocols.
  • Strong negotiation skills essential with experience in conflict resolution is desirable.
  • Experience of working with local stakeholders, including NGO, UN, donors, and government actors.
  • Be fluent in English and Arabic.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Support the program technical coordinators and senior managers with overseeing day-to-day implementation of all programs in the field site, providing constructive supervision to the program managers to implement, monitor, and evaluate work plans.
  2. Actively participate in the development of new proposals and initiatives for the field sites in accordance with the country program strategic plan and IRC strategic action plan 2020 framework.
  3. Ensure timely and quality program implementation, reporting, and monitoring
  4. Contribute to assessments, program design, and budgeting.
  5. Ensure programs are in compliance with IRC, donor and national requirements.
  6. Closely monitors events in current and potential operational areas (humanitarian situation, politics, and security, etc.) in order to identify additional possible programming areas
  7. Oversee the financial management of field office operations including cash management, issuing and tracking advances, ensuring complete and correct use of all finance forms.
  8. Ensure the month end closing original documents are scanned and boxed by finance department and send to central office.
  9. Ensure proper financial management systems are in place and followed in coordination with the finance team.
  10. Ensure proper financial, supply chain and ICT management systems and control mechanisms are in place and adhered to in line with the IRC’s global and in-country finance and supply chain policies.
  11. Promote team spirit, cohesion, respect and the IRC way standards for professional conduct among all field staff in close cooperation with HR department. Adhere to and act in accordance with IRC HR policies and procedures.
  12. Approve and oversee management of time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage; ensures monthly, accurate timesheet submission and carries out reviews.
  13. Ensure appropriate support to field based staff via regular site visits, producing reports with action points to monitor.
  14. Address interpersonal conflicts that may arise in the field offices and refer matter to immediate supervisor as appropriate.
  15. Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  16. Ensure all staff in the field site know and understand IRC safety and security policies and procedures.
  17. Monitor the field security situation, attend security meetings and inform the security manager, and SMT where appropriate, of developments through submission of accurate weekly and where needed ad-hoc security and incident reports.
  18. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders in area of operation including community and religious leaders, NGOs, local government authorities etc., to enhance cooperation and coordination between organizations. 
  19. Attend on a regular basis inter-agency meetings organized in town and provide regular feedback to the field director.
  20. Other duties related to operations management which may be assigned by the FD to maximize program outcomes.
