TTi organization is inviting people from different backgrounds to participate in the “Hack the Crisis” hackathon and build a unique solution to help Jordan move from the COVID-19 crisis containment phase to the crisis management phase. These solutions generally form into reality in the shape of services, websites, mobile apps, and hardware devices.“Hack the Crisis” is now a global movement to support innovative solutions by individuals and startups to help the community adjust-to and manage the COVID-19 crisis and lessen the negative effects of the virus in the short and long terms.

General Themes:-

Innovative solutions by individuals and startups that help the community adjust-to and manage COVID-19 crisis and lessen the negative effects of the virus on the short and long terms.

However, this hackathon is accepting applications in three themes:

  • Food availability and access solutions.

    • How can we ensure that everyone has access to a nutritious diet? 

    • Food security is a complex problem related to ensuring the availability of sufficient food produced in sustainable ways, promoting economic access to healthy and affordable foods, increasing nutritional knowledge and understanding how to make the healthiest choices.

  • Logistics and Delivery solutions

    • How can we secure the daily necessary supplies (goods, medicine, food) for families, businesses and any vital sector? 

    • Supply chain and delivery systems are critical at all times, and especially in times of emergency. 

    • Creating faster, more efficient, contactless, and safe delivery and logistics solutions is the key for many industries, especially health and food.

  • Infection control solutions

    • How can we invent and develop non-medical solutions that can help in controlling or tracking COVID-19 infection and raising awareness using technology?

Eligibility:-

  • Only the following are allowed to participate:

    • Individuals living in Jordans (Including non-Jordanians)

    • Startups based in Jordan.

  • To be eligible, your work should be;

    • Relevant to the general theme.

    • Relevant to at least one of the three focus tracks.

    • Innovative.

    • Applicable (in terms of feasibility, laws and regulations, usability, and testability).

Awards:-

  • The 1st winner of each theme will receive JD1500 cash awad.
  • The 2nd place winner of each theme will receive a mobile phone.

Hackathon Timeline:-

  • Call for applications (8 May, 2020).
  • Closing the call for applications (15 May, 2020).
  • Notifying shortlisted applicants (16 May, 2020).
  • The beginning of the hackathon, orientation and mentorship (17-18 May, 2020).
  • Remote video pitching  (19 May, 2020).
  • Judging application (21 May, 2020).
  • Announcing the winners (23 May, 2020).

TTI is a non-profit organization, founded in 2010 with the mission of spreading Entrepreneurship and Innovation culture among youth in Jordan. TTi could proudly serve more than 5000 beneficiaries in Jordan spreading Entrepreneurship and Innovation culture among youth in Jordan. TTi works with the government, industries, big corporates, and academia to foster collaborations between business incubators, accelerators, innovation hubs,co-working spaces and other key stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
