Facebook requires a research program manager. Research program managers build and scale global research programs to strengthen the impact of the world-class UX research team by implementing operational systems, connecting teams and knowledge, and problem solving operational hurdles to enable researchers to do their most impactful work. The role will manage and build programs and curriculum for the UX research team to manage internal talent and facilitate internal career paths. This will require working closely with cross-functional partners across recruiting, HR, and UX research.  The ideal candidate enables the UX research team's best work by leading strategic planning of programs, managing short- and long-term project milestones, anticipating project issues and resolving them, connecting resources to research needs, and removing barriers to doing great work. The research program managers are experts in problem solving and multitasking, building long-term relationships, and utilizing a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills that help the talented teams operate at their highest and most effective level. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful, highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative. This role requires program management experience and strong leadership skills with a proven ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy. This is a full-time position based in the Menlo park office.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. 5+ years of related program or project management experience, with a focus on recruiting, HR, or operations.
  2. Experience in working in fast-paced environment that requires independent time management and task prioritization.
  3. Communication skills for interacting with and influencing researchers, cross-functional stakeholders, and senior management.
  4. Track record of operating independently, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner.
  5. Experience working independently with minimum supervision and leading multiple projects simultaneously involving various groups and locations.
  6. Consultative skills to identify strategic initiatives/opportunities and drive to successful resolution.
  7. Experience in problem-solving and resourcefulness with a detail-oriented approach and organizational skills.
  8. Experience building relationships with peers and senior stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  9. Experience using MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio or other process mapping software).
  10. It's preferred to have general knowledge of research and/or UX design.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  • Partner with the recruiting and operations team members to develop and implement global internal education and communication strategies around interview training and processes.
  • Develop, manage, and implement an educational program to improve interviewer capabilities tailored to each business area to ensure UX research can scale and evolve while maintaining a high hiring bar.
  • Develop and execute interview knowledge sharing processes and procedures establishing best practices, next steps, and outcomes including owning content management through the internal channels (e.g. updating WIKI content, sharing regular updates in team groups, meetings, or via email, etc.).
  • Act as the program lead by handling escalated issues on resources and key initiatives as related to UX research recruiting.
  • Partner closely with UX research, HR and research operations leadership to develop and implement global education and communication strategies around UX research-specific performance expectations for both ICs and managers.
  • Hold the line when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships.
