Participate in the 3-month program to the United States as a young, talented democracy and civic leaders from the Middle East and North Africa who are fluent in English. The program starts March 2015 and ends June 2015 for the English Leaders for Democracy LFD program.
Or apply to the 3-month program to Lebanon as a young, talented democracy and civic leaders from the Middle East and North Africa if you are fluent in Arabic. The program starts March 2015 and ends June 2015 for the Arabic Leaders for Democracy LFD program.
TO THE USA: the English program
You will spend 6 weeks academic coursework at the Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in Syracuse, New York USA. Afterwards, you engage in a 7-week professional assignment with a political, non-governmental, or public policy organization in Washington, DC, USA.
TO LEBANON: the Arabic program
You will spend 6 weeks academic coursework at the Lebanese American University’s (LAU) School of Arts and Sciences in Lebanon. Afterwards, you engage in a 7-week professional assignment with a political, non-governmental, or public policy organization in Beirut, Lebanon.
THE FELLOWHIP PROGRAM
You will gain academic skills, practical experience as well as networking opportunities with like-minded peers and professionals.
The program covers international and domestic travel, health insurance, housing, and a moderate living stipend
• you are from Jordan
• are a young professional
• have a BA degree
• fluent in English in an academic and professional environment
or
• fluent in Arabic in an academic and professional environment
• have 5 years of demonstrated leadership skills
If you apply to the USA, submit everything in English.
If you apply to Lebanon, submit everything in Arabic.
