The New York Academy of Sciences is looking for the world's brightest high school students (ages 13-17) to become part of The Junior Academy, joining a dynamic global network of like-minded peers and mentors. Students work together on Launchpad, the Academy’s unique, online platform. Launchpad enables students and STEM professionals to collaborate virtually as they compete in project-based challenges focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to competing in global challenges, students develop STEM and research experience while advancing vital 21st-century skills such as leadership, communication, and collaboration.
Challenge winners receive full travel scholarships to attend the Global STEM Alliance Summit at the New York Academy of Sciences held each July.
The New York Academy of Sciences is the one of the oldest scientific societies in the United States. It is an independent, non-profit organization with more than 20,000 members in 100 countries with a mission is to advance scientific research and knowledge; to support scientific literacy; and to promote the resolution of society's global challenges through science-based solutions.
