"SHE’s GREAT" is a holistic community-based, gender-responsive program for boys and girls in order to identify and transform gender stereotypes and build inclusive communities where students are equipped with the networks, science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Design, and Math (STEAM) training, confidence, and leadership skills to fully participate in their communities and careers. The program coordinator is a full member of the SHE’S GREAT! team, based in Amman, Jordan and provides day-to-day logistics support and administrative coordination of program activities. In addition to day-to-day management of program activities, the program coordinator will be responsible for coordination with and monitoring progress of the local implementing partner and liaising between IREX team members in Amman and Washington, DC on reporting and compliance issues. Day-to-day management of program activities includes financial monitoring, logistics support, implementation of program work plans, grants management, and communicating with partner organizations on issues ranging from program design to financial accountability. The program coordinator will also be conducting gender and inclusion research specific to the context of Jordan.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • From 2 to 5 years of experience in supporting international development programs with a focus on youth and gender equality, advantageous if specific expertise in Jordanian context.
  • Familiarity with U.S. department of state grants and regulations is preferred,
  • Experience in working with and within diverse and underserved communities in Jordan across education, social protection, gender equality, and/or youth engagement sectors, highly desired, with safeguarding experience is a plus,
  • Experience in conducting desk research with Arabic language resources and ability to proficiently articulate findings in the English language, specifically related to research on gender and youth is highly desired.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple administrative tasks in a demanding, time sensitive work environment.
  • Experience in developing or facilitating virtual training is preferred.
  • Proven skills related to conducting gender analyses, including qualitative research methods such as key informant interviews and focus group discussions is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills with demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Professionalism in written correspondence and report writing.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, including strong writing skills.  
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including team members in multiple time zones.
  • Excellent ability to remain flexible and collaborative while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel, and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  • Providing input to internal/external reports, presentations, curriculum, and other products as identified. 
  • Provide logistic support for all program needs, may include event planning, travel arrangements, schedule meetings, etc. 
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities including data management and analysis if assigned. 
  • With guidance, manage program internal and external communication, the management of email inboxes and program contact information, draft written communications, contribute to program communication tools and social media efforts. specific tasks for assigned role include:
  1. Communicating with partners, facilitators, and participants.
  2. Conducting desk review of Arabic language resources and local expert interviews to inform the SHE’s GREAT! gender analysis.
  3. Supporting day to day implementation of Jordan based SHE’s GREAT.
  4. Tracking financial processing including invoices, stipends, and other payments.
  5. Supporting the adaptation and implementation of virtual collaborative platforms.
  6. Facilitating communication on project implementation between the implementing organization in the field and DC office.
  7. Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities including data management and analysis, if assigned.
  8. Maintain effective relations and coordination with program partners.
  9. Research and/or write summaries of project activities and results including quarterly and other program reports for donor, and with supervision, provide input to presentations, and other products.
  10. Support internal and external program communication; tasks may include, the management of email inboxes and program contact information, draft written communications, contribute to program communication tools (newsletters) and social media efforts.
  11. Outreach to potential partners and local stakeholders.
  12. Draft request for proposal and scopes of work and contracts for consultants and partner agreements.
  13. Identify opportunities for partnership with local organizations to improve program sustainability.
  14. Tracking and screening applicants abiding by funder and IREX policies and protocols.
  15. Draft correspondence with stakeholders. Guidance and/or approval before engaging stakeholders may be required.
  16. Accurately perform financial administration tasks (check requests, sub-award approval level, procurement, vendor proposals, invoice tracking, etc). Develop a sound understanding of the purpose and reason for each required task consistent with policies.
  17. Financial processing of invoices, sub-grants, sub-awards, honorariums.
  18. Process and update financial records.
  19. Work effectively with Jordan-based financial manager to support field expense reporting and accounting.
  20. Ensure compliance through all financial process documents.
  21. Proactively seek to understand how daily work aligns with project or practice area goals and objectives. 
  22. Collaborate with team members. 
  23. Demonstrate responsiveness to internal stakeholders. 
  24. Actively participates in IREX activities and volunteers to participate in planning or execution of some activities (social, community service, etc.) Maintain positive attitude about work.
  25. Participate as a full member of the SHE’S GREAT! program, providing administrative and research support.
  26. Support team members in implementing events, training, travel, and product development.
  27. Be an active and proactive liaison between the Jordan country team and the DC based staff.
